MAGAZINE: Shots Taken/ Mise- En- Scene
For the magazine front cover, after looking at real media texts and what types of shots were used,we decided on a mid- shot of the actor. We wanted the shot to have just half his face showing in a blue tinted light; we produced this by covering a torch light with blue tissue paper and shining the torch on the right side of the actors face. We chose for the actor's clothing to match the lighting of the shot, ensuring that there wouldn't be any clash of colours within the final image.
Final Shot
This was the chosen image for the front cover of the magazine because it came out to be the most clearest out of the shots taken. Also, this shot portrays the blue light on the right side of his face and the darkness on the left with a distinguishable line going through the middle of the actor's face.

POSTER: Shots Taken/ Mise- En- Scene
Here is a video I made using, Biteable, of the different shots taken for the poster of our trailer 'The Enigma.'
We wanted there to be a link with the magazine front cover so decided on the use of shadows and there being a coloured light shining on certain parts of the actor's face. So, to produce the red tinted light, we covered the camera lens with red tissue paper and ensured that the actor's clothing didn't disrupt the image by asking him to wear darker clothing. To go with the mystery idea, we got the actor to cover his face with his hair and got him to wet it to make it look shiny and effective.
Final Shot
The image on the left is the chosen image for the poster as it
came out the most clearest and the red tint on the camera was subtle but worked really well in highlighting certain parts of his face in red. Additionally, the actor's facial expression looks very serious and stern which is what we wanted as it portrayed the darker side of the character within the trailer. Additionally, his gaze directly into the camera creates a more frightening effect on audiences.

TRAILER: Evidence Controlled use of the Camera
This overhead shot of a plate of food represents controlled use of the camera as we had to ensure that the shadow of us holding the camera, didn't appear within the shot and on the table. Additionally, taking this shot meant that the camera had to stay still throughout, which was difficult because we were unable to use a tripod for this type of shot.
This shot required controlled use of the camera so that the shadow of us filming wasn't included within the shot and also being caught in the shot through the mirror above the sink. Also, we had to ensure that this shot got both, the actor washing his hands and the running water.

TRAILER: Careful use of Mise- En- Scene
This is an example of two shots we took a lot of notice to regarding the mise- en- scene and how it could portray the character, Elijah's, behavioural traits.
